Here’s what we know so far about Ford issuing recalls for these particular models in.

  • Ford recalled approximately 180 Super Duty 6.7-liter Diesel Chassis Cab trucks from the 2017 year due to a potential problem with the protective shield on the fuel conditioning module. The fuel shield seems to dislodge itself with water spray or debris and has an adhesion problem, which in turn can result in a fuel leak. If your vehicle is affected, TSC Ford Specialist can replace the bottom cover with a metallic protective shield.
  • Another recall affects the 2010-2012 Ford Escapes and the Mercury Mariner compact sport-utility vehicles with the 3.0-liter flex fuel engines (2010 and 2011 model years). In this case, the fuel delivery flange may cause cracks to the fuel supply port, potentially causing leaks, or worse, fire. If your model has a defect, TSC Ford Specialist can replace that as well.
  • The 2015-2017 Shelby GT350/R Mustang, the company’s very popular sports car, is next on Ford’s list due to an engine oil cooler tube assembly. There does not seem to be enough crimps on the hose which could lead to the hose separating and an oil leak. The solution is to replace the tubing assembly.

Any vehicles available now for purchase will not be sold until inspected and repaired. Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be any crashes or injuries to date relating to these issues, so let’s cross our fingers that our Ford drivers will get to their dealerships or come by TSC Ford Specialist as soon as possible.
