Ford's F-Series Drives EarningsTSC Ford Specialist always keeps an eye out for Ford news and we were certainly excited to see that Ford’s F-Series drives earnings way through the roof this year! Just another reason to seriously consider buying a new Ford truck this year. And once you do, just remember that we can help maintain and service your vehicle with precision and knowledge.

Here are some of the facts around the Ford F-Series earnings and outlook.

In June 2017, Ford’s F-Series truck US sales stood at 77,895 units with a solid year-over-year rise of about 9.8%. Ford’s newly launched F-Series Super Duty trucks are in high demand and strengthened even further last month, driving overall sales of F-Series trucks through the roof. F-Series Super Duty trucks accounted for about 55.0% of total F-Series retail sales in June. Pretty impressive indeed.

Revenue for January-March of 2016 hit $37.7 billion. This was up 11% from $33.9 billion a year ago, when the company still had one of its two pickup truck plants out of commission, to make way for the next generation F-150 truck with an aluminum body instead of the heavy steel frame it once sported.

The result was a limited supply of the F-150 which was a major profit-generator for the company. Ford sold 1.72 million vehicles worldwide in the first quarter, which is a 10% increase from 1.6 million for the same period just a year ago.

For Ford, higher sales of F-series trucks and SUVs yield higher profit margins than smaller cars, so that means a consistent improvement in F-Series sales should boost the company’s future earnings estimates, which could, and probably will drive Ford stocks even higher. Ford also plans on releasing a new version of its F-150 truck later this year, in addition to a new Ford Expedition SUV, as well as a new Lincoln Navigator.

China is another country that continues to improve for Ford which set out to make a statement for itself with a full lineup of utility vehicles and more, SUVs are in big demand, and Ford earned $443 million in the world’s largest car market. Ford made $220 million in Asia Pacific compared with $103 million a year ago, and those numbers continue to improve.

“There’s a growing sense of excitement about Ford in Europe, from the new Mustang and Focus RS, to our growing SUV line-up, to our best-selling commercial vehicles,” said Roelant de Waard, Vice President. He seems happy to be reaching more and more clients, retail and business fleet customers.

Overall, a great place to be in for Ford, and let’s not forget, the single most popular vehicle bought by Americans, earning above $200,000 a year, is the Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Pickups are on the rise: the full-size pickup market, which includes commercial and heavier-duty trucks, such as the Ford F-450 was responsible for 12% of record 17.5 million brand new vehicles sold in the U.S. market alone last year, according to industry sales data.
