We all know that the first thing to do if your car overheats is to pull to the side of the road and call Ford repair to come take care of it for you. However, what do you do if you are on a mountain road with no emergency lane, or in the middle of five lanes of stalled traffic?
As soon as you notice that your car has overheated, turn off the air conditioner and turn on the heater as hot as it will go. Also, turn your fan speed to the highest setting. Doing this should pull air through your engine compartment, pulling heat away from the engine and hopefully cooling it down until you can get to the side of the road and park.
Turning your heater on high won’t fix the problem, but it might reduce damage to your engine until you can get to the side of the road and call our shop for help.
